Hellopay, South African payments facilitator and the financial services arm of the Hello Group, and Mastercard today announced a partnership to roll out SoftPOS – a contactless acceptance solution that turns any NFC-enabled Android device into a physical point of sale. Hellopay’s Tap on Phone solution is the result of a collaborative partnership between Nedbank, Mastercard and SmartPesa.

SmartPesa is now Visa Ready Certified to provide Tap to Phone solutions to acquirers and sellers globally quickly, safely and securely. Not only does our proprietary SoftPOS technology help transform any NFC-enabled smart device into a point-of-sale payments terminal instantly, we also offer the added capability (and assurance) to accept high-value transactions securely on smartphones using PIN-entry authentication.
